Presented by the Star buck.......

ENGAGED - Quinn Bradlee, 27, son of Ben and Sally, and author of "A Different Life," to Pary Williamson, a yoga instructor he met Jan. 12 on the recommendation of her student Maureen Dowd. Quinn tells us he proposed over the phone at 11:30 p.m. Sunday after they'd been in a fight, and he told her his life wasn't the same when they were apart. Pary's students include: Rahm Emanuel, David Gregory, Maureen Orth and Katharine Weymouth.

I don´t know who the hell Quinn Bradlee is nor Pary Williamson. But the story is nice. I mean, the outcome of the story is nice.

Politico/playbook is kind of like a gossip column of the DC crowd and happenings. Most of it is rather dull.

What caught my eye is this:

** Starbucks’ new Global Responsibility report tracks progress of the company’s commitment to doing business responsibly, called Starbucks™ Shared Planet™. This year the company took an innovative approach to reporting by integrating the content into an interactive website and focusing on the three priority areas: ethical sourcing, environmental stewardship and community involvement. The website recently launched and is available at www.starbucks.com/sharedplanet. Some of the exciting features of the site include:

* An interactive coffee map which lets you see the positive impact Starbucks is having in communities where its coffee is grown.
* A customizable report feature that enables reports to be tailored on specific areas of interest.
* A virtual tour of Starbucks newest LEED®-certified store that highlights the green elements that are being incorporated into the design of all new company-owned Starbucks in the future.

Starbucks continues to make substantial progress toward reaching long-term Shared Planet goals. Visit the new site and share your feedback. **

so it seems this column is a platform for pushing Buck ie the Star buck. O kay.
Does anyway fall for this crap anymore? "Shared Planet"? "Positive impact" (ok, positive impact for Howard Schulz so technically, thats not a lie) ? "Green elements" (the only green thing about Starbucks is the logo) ? "A virtual tour of Starbucks newest LEED certified store that highlights the green elements" ?

Isn´t it a bit of an oxymoron highlighting how "green" this corporation is while handing out paper cups with plastic lids - by the millions?

I can give you a firsthand account of how "green" Starbucks really is (much to my dismay, I might add.....but well, I can)

Watch this space.
